William Gaynor joined The Ashcroft Group in 2005 and is an expert in state, federal and international relations, private equity and finance, homeland security and law enforcement, infrastructure partnerships, and business development.

Before joining The Ashcroft Group, Gaynor served in George W. Bush’s Administration and on his presidential campaigns. He traveled to 25 states and 10 countries on four continents and built public and private sector relationships with business leaders, diplomats and government officials.

Gaynor served as Associate Director of the Department of Commerce’s Office of Business Liaison where he concentrated on corporate and grassroots outreach, economic, tax and trade policy, and legislative strategy. He also helped direct Secretarial Trade Missions to Russia, China, Mexico, Chile, South Africa, and Ghana During his service at Commerce he also acted as a lead representative for the White House Travel Office where he coordinated Presidential trips to Japan, Sweden, and France.

Gaynor’s portfolio also includes extraordinary fundraising experience. In 2005, he was the Finance Director for the 53rd Presidential Inaugural Committee and lead a team that raised more than $35 million in eight weeks. A year before, Gaynor was a member of President Bush’s record-breaking finance team, serving as Finance Director for the western states. And, in 2000, Gaynor helped raise a record $100 million for Bush’s first presidential election.

Prior to his political experience, Gaynor worked at the Chicago Board Options Exchange. He holds his Series 7 and Series 63 financial registrations.

Gaynor received his MBA from Georgetown University and BA in Political Science from Brown University.
